Who produces Europe's top-league footballers?
Every regular in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 in 2025/26, counted by nationality and set against the population back home. Hover over or tap a country to see its figure and every one of its players, switch between the world and Europe, or sort the full table below.

Every country
Ranked by regulars per million people. A country needs 5 or more regulars to be ranked, which keeps a single player in a small country from topping the list; tick the box to show the rest. Tap a column to sort by it, and a row to see that country's players.
How this works: a regular is any player with 900 or more league minutes in 2025/26 in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga or Ligue 1, counted once if he changed club, under the nationality listed for him in our data. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are counted separately, and shaded as one United Kingdom on the map. Populations are World Bank 2024 figures, with the UK nations from the ONS, Ireland from the CSO and the French overseas departments from INSEE. Regions follow the football confederations, so Israel and Turkey sit in Europe and Australia in Asia.
